Election-2014
It is very common during the election, the officials and employees of various departments selected to perform election duty try to abstain from duty for their personal reasons. Election officer selects the names of employees for election duty randomly. Therefore prior to selection, employees try to make it a point that their name does not appear in the list for election duty. This year Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim has made it a point to put up many notices at prominent places in every floor of Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mangalore stating that employees visiting the DC’s office for their request for this purpose are troubling the election process. This is not correct practice by employees, only if they have unavoidable reason they have to approach through their chief with alternative arrangements. Sources said this notice has been put up after several employees started queuing up with cancel request at the Election Officer’s office from the date of notification of election.
